The following functions are performed by Peer Support Services:

Role model/mentors to peers, the victim and the victimized

Exhibits competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, and tracks progress

Serves as an advocate, provides information and direction, and emotional/mental support for unmet needs.

Performs a wide range of healing tasks for young adults ages 15-34 in both formal and informal settings.

Guides in goal setting – the ultimate goal is to heal and achieve a safe healthy environment by regaining independence within their community or a community of their choosing

Peer Support is provided with the goal to achieve and maintain a safe and healthy environment for individuals that are lacking a strong support system within urban communities.
